In late 2014 I connected with Claudia who was looking for volunteers to fine tune the last details of her coaching/healing sessions before launching her new venture ‘The Crystal Catalyst’.
I decided to volunteer to recharge the batteries an invest in a bit a ‘me time’ outside of the studio. During the four weeks that followed wonderful things happened, not only for myself but towards the end of our sessions I offered Claudia some marketing consultancy as a way of thanks – and it soon became clear how much fun we had working together and how easily ideas bounced between us. The initial listening project bought out many of the ideas that Claudia had in her head and enabled me to put them down succinctly on paper for her. It also lead to the development of her new tag line “Feeling good, loving life”. This was something that I noted Claudia talking about on numerous occasions during the consultancy work – she thought it perfect when I later suggested it for a tag line.Extract from the listening project and consultancy work
Having experienced sessions with Claudia it became clear that I had established a real innate understanding of her product and offering, and so we decided to continue to work together on her marketing and design.
After her offering had been defined and a strategy outlined in the consultancy work, it was decided to design some new icons for the three main techniques that Claudia sometimes adopted in her sessions. A swirl design was used within each icon in order to represent ‘vibrational energies’ and the ‘ongoing cycle of life’. As well as creating icons with the name of the technique that they represented, we also created icons that spoke of the benefit that they might offer ’transform’, ‘manifest’ and ‘be guided’. Simple miniature icons were also created that could be used as tiny avatars or icons on a page, or even as bullets. A dynamic font was chosen to match the movement in the design. The colours were chosen to compliment the business cards that Claudia had previously had designed by Rachael Linton. During the work we also established that ‘transform’ was a better word than ‘release’, as everyones experience of Metamorphic Technique was different, but it generally lead to some form of personal transformation.
Claudia also wanted to make jewellery out of the icons and so simple scaled templates were designed for her (looking forward to see how these turn out).
A logo was created which incorporated the same font as used on the cards together with her brand new tagline. Claudia also had a detailed pencil illustration that she had created and wanted as a watermark on her logo. I traced the illustration by hand before making it into a vector illustration that would be editable (colour) and scalable (size) without loss of resolution. The illustration could also be used as a water mark on any leaflet or pop up banners that Claudia might want to design later, and could be used on her website etc.
A series of variations of the logo were created, web banners and profile pictures for Facebook and Twitter etc.
Claudia was also issued with brand guidelines (formula to match the colours used and an outline of her fonts and their hierarchy) together with a concept for a three- fold leaflet. We also worked together on a long and short bio for Claudia, as well as writing some copy that would succinctly explain the techniques Claudia uses and her unique approach to help people towards “Feeling good, loving life”.
Leaflet concept to show how font hierarchy and icons could work together.
